He brought this on himself. He could have changed everything with the 2nd impeachment vote. He did not. And so he reaps what he sowed.
The sad thing is that you can't save US manufacturing by trying to build walls. You build it by reinventing skills, implementing advanced technologies, aligning to new concepts, accepting disruption, chasing digital twin technology, and more. It will happen through constant innovation, big bold moves, skill set reinvention, and challenging thinking that will – and already is — provide for significant transformation. The future of manufacturing is all about adapting to collapsing product lifecycles and reinventing products faster The connectivity and intelligence that comes to products through the Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity Mass customization. Digitization, robotics, and the cloud. Design based on crowd thinking. Rapid prototyping and deployment. Faster time to market. 3D printing or additive manufacturing.
Tough shit like that which takes hard work, effort, investment, tikme.

I am coming to the conclusion that should the US choose the path espoused by the crazy dude (tariffs and other insanity) it will find itself in a REALLY BIG bag of hurt.
I am also concluding that the people who are hurting and are seeking the easy way out will have to go through a bigger bag of hurt to realize that there is no easy way out.
And in the meantime, China and the rest of Asia keep aligning themselves to tomorrow and winning at the game.
Pure idiocy.
