My mom was getting her master's degree in Psychology was working with at risk girls , many had gotten pregnant, some more than once. She talked to them about birth control but the people in charge said that was forbidden. (late 1950's Indiana) my mom told them that was just ridiculous, as well as stupid. When she kept getting hassled left the program in disgust.
