I can’t think of a better use of energy than securing property rights for the 1.4 billion unbanked people around the world and protecting all 8 billion of us from the parasites that steal our wealth and time through debasement. It’s also about giving and protecting the property rights of oppressed women and children living under dictatorships or brutal regimes. When you think about it, the energy used by blenders, dryers, or holiday lights doesn’t even compare to the energy needed to provide freedom of speech, the freedom to transact, and a system that’s permissionless and censorship-resistant. Honestly, there’s no better use of energy than that.
