I sometimes reflect on the fact that a starship could be run with a couple people. Most of what the crew does is pointless busywork. They tap keys, and query the computer to tell them what keys to tap. They shuttle messages around on Ipads cause I guess the technology to send an im or email got lost on the way. It would be more efficient to tell the computer to optimize operation, and the meatbags could just babysit in the galaxy's most boring job.
