https://blogs.cdc.gov/niosh-science-blog/2023/02/03/diy-filtration/ i don't think i'd heard about this cdc study on diy air filtration until now (it only came out in february of this year so it's pretty recent) but hot damn, the best case scenario (better filters + universal masking) showed a 94% reduction in relative exposure.
it's a good piece, very readable, and mentions a lot of other useful things, but 94%
