Sometimes I think about how it'd be hard to make a life for myself outside some major cities, people from other places get very touchy about it and get all 'we aren't all racists!'
You don't have to be *actively a racist* for an immigrant or a minority to feel not super welcome. It's not about *you, the individual*: it's about 'is your little town the sort of place someone from the outside can find home and community, without going to church or without having gone to school there as a child?'
