My Thanksgiving Prayer
On this Thanksgiving Day, 2023, I thank you, Lord, for saving my soul.You could have left me alone on that very wide and broad road where so many – so very many others – of my friends, even some family have walked, and still walk, toward destruction.
But you rescued me. Without my even knowing it at the time, you pulled me from that wide and comfortable road and placed me on this narrow one that leads to an incomprehensibly glorious and forever reality. Surely, the writer said it truly, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, all that God has prepared for those’ whom you have called.
Lord – thank you for calling me. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Thank you, Lord, for making me whole.I was so, so broken. Incomplete. Lost. Lonely. Hiding behind a façade of smiles and good nature jesting. But hiding, nonetheless, all of my hurts.
Thank you for saving my soul. Thank you for making me whole. Thank you, Lord, for giving to me your incomprehensible salvation so rich, and so free.
