Astronomers still haven't seen the very first stars in the Universe, made from primordial hydrogen and helium left over from the Big Bang. But thanks to JWST, they might have found the next best thing, a galaxy where the gas is outshining its stars. The galaxy has stars hotter than 80,000 °C, much hotter than typical massive stars we see today. These stars could be similar to the first generation of stars, believed to be hot and enormous.
