One of the things I like about krokbragd patterns is that it allows you to improvise while you are weaving (which is something a lot of patterns don't really allow for). It adds a lot more possibilities to a loom that may otherwise just do plain weave. Here's an example of a pillow I made my mother using the same yarn and technique as that rug.
