"content": "And a quick one. Short story but bought as an ebook, so twenty-nine is \"Bloodchild\" by Octavia E. Butler. She packs an awful lot in there. Family, love, aliens, body horror. This edition came with a longish afterword where Butler gives her motivations for writing this and what it meant to her. She also explicitly says it is not a slavery story. It's the accomodations humans will make to survive and complicated relationships of dependencies. (Gone too soon.) #haveread #sf #OctaviaButler",
