A loved one had forgotten their spouse passed, and I was torn about correcting them. They are otherwise pretty cognizant. I gently brought it up the first time, but just redirected the conversation after that.
I would be okay with going along with it, but they seem to think the spouse has been too busy to check on them, and that has to hurt, so -- it hurts a little either way.
