I think it's a pretty accepted idea that the best sci-fi narrative isn't all made up bullshit but it tends predict the future by analyzing the present, right? Cyberpunk portrayed systemic inequality, increasingly more unstable work conditions, inflammatory fearmongering towards minorities by the elites, threatening AI and billionaires buying political power everywhere. Not sure why we should be surprised that the gunning down CEOs part became true as well.
