One of my kids got a dyslexia diagnosis early this school year, which has opened up a world of supports for him. The cost? $4000 and three half days off work. Our benefit package paid for it (coordination of benefits + family leave). I can see how less advantaged kids would fall behind, with doors for their future shut when they're not even 10.
