Any of you lovely people ever had success growing poppies in pots, and if so, what is the secret?
I can't even get the Icelandic or Californian ones to grow for me, and they are in a number of places round here, yet the huge red and black things in the ground at front of house go crazy every year. The tourists photograph them too, I didn't plant them, were here when we moved in. Unfortunately we often tend to get rain and wind when they come out so they get battered.
