I haven't used that particular laptop, but have you used any distro with Gnome? Or KDE?
Maybe there's something with the desktop environment used by MX Linux? On Budgie I use a custom script to rotate the screen and change the coordinate matrices for the pointer devices (mouse and touchscreen etc).
