Today I used SINPE in Sierpe to pay for lunch using my Bitcoin Lightning bakance in a very remote cafe in Costa Rica.

SINPE (Sistema Nacional de Pagos Electrónicos) is Costa Rica’s national electronic payments system, managed by the Central Bank of Costa Rica. The SINPE mobile allows for a mobile phone to be linked to a bank account.

Using BitcoinJungle (npub14f2…v7lu) I signed up with BullBitcoin (npub18ul…dcl9). To make the purchase I then enter the SINPE mobile number and the balance is instantly sent to the vendor and received in Colones (local currency).

Thanks lee (npub1tay…jg5y) and bullbitcoin.com (npub1t28…nkzs). Makes living on a Bitcoin standard easier here in Costa Rica.
