The UAE's first fully equipped honey-testing laboratory, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC), has been launched at the Central Testing Laboratory (CTL) at the Masdar City sustainability and innovation hub. The laboratory uses artificial intelligence and advanced technology to assess honey quality, detect adulteration, and understand the health of bees. The comprehensive tests cover honey authenticity, sugar content, moisture levels, and acidity. The collaboration between the health technology company M42 and ADQCC aims to support local honey producers, enhance the global market positioning of Abu Dhabi honey, and meet local and international standards.
