The problem is that they haven't added monero at all. It has been the most requested feature since the past 6 years and has been continuously ignored.
They mention "regulation compliance" but then accept anonymous cash sent to them by mail. It is just a bad excuse, don't ever trust proton. It is more private than gmail for sure, but should never be trusted as private. They also hold the private keys for our encrypted emails.
