It like other similar things by clubs and religions is an outward sign of tribalism and should be accepted by the tribe members for the good and bad that it offers if they want to maintain the tradition.
As an aside I read somewhere over 4 decades ago that the Jews were keen to infiltrate the medical profession in the USA so that they could promote and normalise circumcision for Jews and Gentiles alike so they could hide in plain sight so to speak. They try to continue the trend by suggesting boys want to look like their fathers rather than ending the historical practice and letting it fade away after two generations. This too seems rather desperate if true.
