you know, I've had reason to think about that question a little bit over the last few weeks and I think I have a theory.

I follow a bunch of people who are super into a specific personal information management tool or technique - Obsidian, logseq, org-mode, Getting Things Done - and I think the reason people fall in love with the specific tools isn't because of their specific superiority in their domain, but because *finding a tool that fits your mind* is such a revelatory experience.
