fell asleep last night watching an episode of modern marvels that went through the early days of the space shuttle program and it surfaced all my memories of my mid-1980s week at Kennedy Space Center ending with being the closest civilians to the launch pad for STS-61-A’s launch and wishing my teenaged self had had the forethought to steal one of the space shuttle tiles they handed to us to pass around and examine.
