Yeah, I tend to agree, for the most part. If nothing else, an organic act gets big, and they come behind them signing a bunch of similar bands.
At least they used to actually be a band tho. Nowadays the musicians are often individuals, and there are rampant claims that many are "industry plants" where the labels literally craft a persona and push into the market. A lot easier to make a plant when it's just a single individual.
