We had to buy new WIFI modem because the old one was apparently WAY WAY old and had stopped connecting properly...and started to make really cocnerning sound.

It took a week to arrive (thanks POSTI), and now we can't get it to connect to internet...

No idea what the fuck is wrong with it.
Could be that he ethernet ports on the walls here are fake? Nobody has ever used them, or so it seems.
