Historically it has been the opposite. The Austrian economists were atheists and religions have always required their followers to pay taxes to the church and redistribute wealth to the poor. “Oh you’re not one of us? Burn him alive!” I believe there’s a misunderstanding of history among these people. They romanticize the past as if it was a better time. A time when slavery was common and women were property. Why doesn’t religion end these things? Nobody talks about this dirty side.
