Anyways, I would disagree with that notion.
Either there's only that bit of #truth to it and #scaling is an issue (meaning they want to spy on us, who pay for their useless miserable lives with our taxes, as in they're lazy motherfuckers) with the (in)famous NSO Group's "Pegasus" evilware OR quite on the contrary, by trying to push through a mass privacy invasion measures they actually admit that whatever people caring for their privacy use actually works.
Alternatively, there could be blood in the government offices if people find out that every device out here has been infected with some foreign made spyware.
Tough call on this one, HOWEVER the idea that "no need for mass anti-encryption measures" because "meh, NSO Pegasus" is utterly, utterly wrong, IMHO.
Just the fact that the motherfuckers are trying so hard alone is a point perfectly proving I'm right.
