The idea that Open Source can protect peoples rights in general is a fantasy. And rights are not corrupted; they are immutable and inherent.
Well meaning people who are uneducated tend to talk around the idea of Rights because the inevitable conclusion of anyone who can think is that it is the State that is the enemy of all mankind, but they can't bring themselves to say it or even think it, because their brainwashing is total.
They think they can defend their rights by using Open Source tools, but use Microsoft Windows, "Because its the standard". They refuse to encrypt their email and refuse to take personal risk to build or help build the very tools they mistakenly believe will save them from the problem whose name they dare not speak aloud: THE STATE.
These people don't develop software and are pathetic fanboys who pour into software all their hopes of a ridiculous fantasy future where the State still exists and can only prey on everyone other than them. Thankfully these useless "men" have no means to stop the real men who are out to change the world.
These people, had they been approached by Satoshi for an investment would have been turned down because not only are they the worst Lilly livered COWARDS but they have ZERO IMAGINATION and could not think their way out of a wet brown paper bag.
MORE CAKE FOR US THEN, INNIT?
