Put simply, colonial thinking means that the ways, customs, stories, heroes, beliefs, and values of the colonizer are superior to those of the colonized.

It happens in every place where one group imposes themselves on the original inhabitants of a land. Whether to perform extractive acts on resources (mine gold, cut timber, take all the fish) or to displace and eradicate those people (settler colonialism).
