Pertussis, aka whooping cough, is no joke. My mom caught it as a wee kid and 80-some years later she still has a weird scary cough that leaves her pale and weak sometimes. Her case was before there was a vaccine. Hers should have been the last generation to have to deal with it, and polio, mumps, measles,etc. This is fucking suicidally stupid.
