i gave an injured mourning dove a safe place to sleep last night. it had a towel and a water dish in its box, and i put the box on the balcony outside so that it could still hear what its familiar with

i released it this morning, and it flew away with very little issue, indicating to me that it just needed some rest and it's able to now find somewhere safe to recover from its injury

i hope i did right by this bird. also, i hope this bird doesn't make me sick
