One of those "is it just me?" questions: Does anyone else put off starting a new project because they can't get "a good run at it" for any reason?
I'm an arch-procrastinator anyway, and a long-term self-saboteur, so starting is never easy, but I'm definitely in that position now. I've done everything I need to do to prepare for Book 5. Plot complete; all my Scrivener structures in place; character profiles updated; yadda yadda.
So why aren't I starting that first draft? Pick a reason. It's Sunday. The lawn needs cutting. We're only 10 days away from jetting off to Greece for two weeks - do I really want to let the words flow only to have to dam them up again in a little over a week? We're still in that house-moving limbo waiting for everyone else to catch up and agree a completion date - do I really want to... yeah, that.
Maybe I should start working on the plot for Book 6? At least I'll make some progress somewhere Oh, and cut that lawn, obvs.
