One episode of #StarTrek that now seems strangely outdated: "Peak Performance". Data, an AI, loses a game of strategy to a biological lifeform, and reasons that having made an error he must be faulty, and removes himself from duty as his judgement is no longer 100% reliable.
Imagine a single "AI" company making that call today. (I'm looking at you, Google, and your recent claim that water pressure at 10cm depth is several atmospheres, making snorkelling impossible.)
