There’s a lot of bad press about landlords lately, but many mum and dad investors buy a second property to boost their retirement because the government keeps messing with their superannuation, adding surcharges and taxes and limiting contributions. Some people are actively trying to fund their own retirement by supplementing superannuation with property.
Perhaps if the government stoped attacking superannuation it might free up some housing.
