Agree with this: "like so many in US tech Altman says “society” as if what he sees out of the window is coterminous with humanity as a whole."
Not so much this: "There’s a historically consistent problem here. It’s colonisation."
Colonization is what the British did to (say) India. That's not what's happening here. It's oppression, inequality, exploitation, and a bunch of other bad things, but not just to others' peoples, also to one's own.
