Last year for Pride Month (June 2023), iNaturalist was going to feature me, but since behind their rainbow washing they treated myself & nb & trans naturalists so terribly, I revoked my consent.
Its not been easy. What happened on iNat was a sliver of the world. Respecting pronouns is only the tip of the iceberg, underneath it is everything from legislating away our rights to murder. Words matter because they become actions. Actions such as this year the NPS trying to ban pride events in their parks and forbidding employees from having any connection to NPS during outside pride events. Every pride its some new hellish manouver attempted.
But, Im here, queer, and living my life :)
If you want to follow a queer scientist who isn't of the current popular flavour of easy for companies to boost to look good, you found them!
