That's one of the things life drawing will teach you.
If you want excercises you can do yourself I'd suggest trying blind drawing. Draw without looking at the paper, or only look at it a limited number of times. It'll look crap at first but it'll gradually get better and you'll learn to make your hand follow your eye.
