After being caught without a cap too many times, I now stock them in my house. You can get ‘em for pennies compared to how much they cost from an HVAC company and it’s just a few screws to replace them. Guarantee I’ll need a new one every summer - YMMV.
Life pro tip: keep spare capacitors on hand for your air conditioners. It’s one of the most common thing to fail, easy to diagnose and takes about 15 minutes to replace if you’re competent with 120v. About $25/ea vs a $500 emergency service call
