my argument would be that you need the hard fought for values of self sacrifice, honor, dignity, family, and compassion towards one’s neighbors and community.
The sorts of values instilled by hierarchical cultures.
The idea was that if everyone was to adequately rule themselves then we would have no need for the jack-booted thugs / armored monsters with sharp sticks / dudes with clubs and bad attitudes, and we could all be as kings without need to rule each other.
