I've been informed by a Spanish person that they have never heard of this social etiquette of not asking newly met people what their jobs are. And they've asked other people they know and no one has ever heard of it.

Which puts the entire thread and conversations here yesterday under erasure, because they're born in Spain and I'm sure they would know better than me.

I don't really know what to say. Maybe I'm delusional or just living in some other reality. Which is kind of scary.
