Was in an argument tonight about the Olympics, and flailed to make my point because I haven’t cared or thought about the Olympics in 20+ years. My thoughts now, cuz Nostr being Nostr.
The Olympics is the Ethereum of Sports.
A platform whose only purpose & reason is to perpetuate & monetize engagement for ‘sports’ no one would otherwise reasonably care about.
It’s a crypto-conference of shitcoin enthusiasts.
And before you argue your favorite competition, let me offer this re-buff:
If your favorite competition mattered to Society, wouldn’t it already be on TV for months out of the year already?
If it’s not, it’s because it’s a niche appreciation. And that’s perfectly wonderful!
Deserving of being appreciated.
But the Olympics stopped being about sports long ago. It’s now about Urban Development Grift.
Just like MacDonald’s stopped being about burgers and fries long ago, cuz the same….
