20th century commies were obsesed with work and building. In socialist czechoslovakia they would greet themselves with "cest praci!" "honor to work!". But the incentives to work were the same as in a labour camp. The only inovation that is incentivized is how you fake/avoid working and how you flee the camp. With very few exceptions people didn't find fulfilment nor joy in work. So almost no communist products were very good or at least not crap.
