A smoke column and pyrocumulus cloud from the Clear fire burning about 20 miles south of Fairbanks, Alaska, currently about 3500 acres. The smoke filling the background is from the much larger McDonald fire near Salcha, which is just under 50,000 acres as of June 23, 2024. This photo was taken from the Reichardt Building at the University of Alaska Fairbanks last night.
