I disagree. Algorithms are fun when they are not driving their motives from user-exploitation. We already have one here in the Explore tab.
You're free to fork Mastodon or use Pleroma etc. or some other Fediverse alternative. I very much like the direction Mastodon is heading, more user friendly and more familiar for many who prefer a certain user experience.
I have created #MastodonBirdUI based on the parts in the Twitter UI I liked and still Mastodon doesn't remind me about Twitter one bit. That's something.
