yeah, if you can get all the nitrogen into an algae or a seaweed, you can basically just use that as slow release fertiliser again.

Oddly enough aquaria have long used algae scrubbers to get nitrate out of the water, you can end up with sheets of the stuff. You wouldn't eat it, but you could fertiliser certain plants with it.
