I'm getting increasingly fed up with the constant refrain of "I'm not antisemitic, I'm anti-Zionist".
Normally I either ignore or block but if I'm feeling like an argument I find that a polite "That's fine. Can you define what you mean by anti-Zionist please" very quickly ends up with a lot of people tying themselves in knots.
As you say, Zionism is itself a complicated, multi-layered political beliefs. For example of course it's perfectly possible to be a Socialist Zionist as many of the early founders of the state of Israel were, although saying that to people today who claim to be Socialists seems to be heretical.
