Also, I forgot to mention the other popular thing, which was looping run out grooves with a short audio "sample" (aka Locked Groove).

I've eg got one with an endless recording of a Lachsack on Josh Wink's "Don't Laugh" and "The Force Will Be With You" on a Kniteforce Records release...
