"It's an underground stormwater pond at our local outlet shops. I designed it back in '07-'08. It's a 'Raintank' system, which basically consists of large plastic milk crates.
How the fuck it caught on fire is a mystery at this point. It had to be arson. But the Fire Dept. isn't talking yet. I can't for the life of me see how it could just spontaneously combust.
They are just letting burn now. We're supposed to get a bunch of rain on Thur. Not sure what will happen then. It will probably put out the fire, but all that burned shit is going to wash out into the neighborhood behind there.
The footprint for that system is almost 2 acres. It's an overflow parking lot, which they will very much be missing come Black Friday.
