I think for users to really understand this we'd need to understand the different use-cases for these different features.

I always lean towards simplification though, so if it's possible to simplify things down while still having these isolation features I think users would prefer that to having to think about User Profiles vs ...

I.e. one question that's still not clear to me is why anyone would want/need to use anything other than User Profiles for isolating apps?
