But poison ivy (Toxicodendron radicans), poison oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum or Toxicodendron pubescens depending on which species), and poison sumac (Toxicodendron vernix) are different plants. They are related to mangos and cashews.

Rhus Radicans was the old scientific name for poison ivy.

But a sumac isn't the same as poison ivy, it just produces the same skin irritation chemical (urushiol), which only some (unfortunate) people react to
