Ive been reading a lot of classical/older books/audiobooks lately and one thing I can't get over is HOW OFTEN men cry in these texts. It is like all the time, their male friend dies, their kid dies, their wife dies, they have a setback, theyre scared, they are overjoyed, they miss their family member, they feel inspired and empowered - they cry! Like humans! It is such a stark contrast to, for example, watching recent movies where IF a man cries it is a Big Deal (tm). It is so interesting to me!
