I'm getting into the #Expanse but I feel like I want to watch the first three episodes again.
It's not without the usual TV/movie cliches - with people nearly dying and breathing again last minute, or a detective guy who's from the 1940s with a hat - but they went for a naturalistic approach to ship/station life.
I found I either wasn't paying attention to some parts, or I found it hard to understand what was being said. It didn't help that my TV sound setting meant I could hear the background noises more that the dialogue, so I probably missed the whole point really. It's a show about an interstellar shoe salesman, right?
I think the first episode could have been a little bit more clear to help guide viewers in. It's a fine balance between explaining things clearly and not being overly simplistic. But I feel like it's going to be a good series - and folk on Fedi seem to love it.
It seems to borrow a lot from Babylon 5, I think.
